What is AVDUBS?
AVDUBS is a car club. Not a race crew. Nor a cult. Just a club. AVDUBS is a non-hazing organization. The only requirements are that you own, drive, or stole a VW, Audi, or BMW and live in the Antelope Valley. We usually like to meet with Dubbers within the cities of Palmdale, Lancaster, Littlerock, and Quartz Hill but don't mind making the drive down below to chill with others. We're always looking to expand and meet other Volkswagen enthusiasts in the AV.
BRIEF HISTORY
If you don't know already, AVDUBS stands for Antelope Valley Volkswagens ("Dubs" being slang for the W in the VW acronym.) It started late 2005 when an internet based friendship by Nick Smith (ethnick) and Jemuel "Jem" Afable (git_kid) developed through the sole fact they both owned VWs. They met and cruised for a few days before thinking of expanding their VW love [ hah that sounds gay!] They began the club by creating a wack blogger website, free forum boards, and tons of business cards. They spread those cards all around the Valley for a couple of weeks in the Summer of 2006 and saw meets at Stater Brothers parking lot range from 5-15 cars!
AVDUBS is still growing with nearly 30 some-what active members and many dubbers unaware of the club. Our main focus is to unite european cars in a Valley taken over by ricey imports. AVDUBS is a fellowship club and a circle of information that looks to have a long future.
PS. My girlfriend is a HUGE factor into what AVDUBS is today and I just thought I'd give credit where its necessary. Plus she'd kick my butt if I didn't.
